Janice Figueroa
Janice Caroline Figueroa, 84, passed away on October 9, 2023 in Ruidoso, New Mexico. She was
born on December 10, 1938 in Erie, Pennsylvania to Harvey and Charlotte Moore Cowley.
Janice was a very strong and impressive lady. Sometime after graduating high school, she was the
first woman to be an engineer who worked on Hughes Aircraft Missiles. It was a great
accomplishment, especially since she didn't acquire a degree in engineering.

Ruidoso, NM, sons, Dale Figueroa of Ruidoso, NM, Bill Figueroa of Prescott Valley, AZ, and
Brent Figueroa of Loving, NM. Janice's 9 grandchildren include Tiffany Ulm- married to Michael
Ulm, Eileen Zamora- married to Jason Zamora, Clarissa Saldivar- married to Zacheory Saldivar,
Shanti Painter- married to Joshua Painter, Trina Figueroa, Willie Figueroa, Brandon Figueroa,
Tony Figueroa, and Brent Figueroa Jr.- fiancé Abigail Driver. 19 great-grandchildren will miss
her dearly as well as her "great-grand dogs" Harley, Colt, Midnight, Mac, and Mylo. "Great-grand
cat" Trump will seemingly not notice a thing on the outside (as cats must), but on the inside,
misses Janice a great deal.
She was preceded in death by mother, Charlotte Cowley, father, Harvey Cowley, brothers Bill
and Jim Cowley, and son, Danny Figueroa.
The Memorial Service will be conducted at their family home in Ruidoso, Saturday, October
14th, 2023.
