Jeanette Findlay, 69, passed away on August 13, 2021, at her residence in Ruidoso, New Mexico. She was born on September 25, 1951 in San Angelo, Texas to S.C. and Juanita (Caldwell) Chrisco.
She graduated from Chelmford High School in Chelmford, Massachusetts and graduated from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.
She ran the Olde Park Hotel, a family business, which operated as an antique shop and a bed and breakfast. She was an antique’s dealer and a floral designer for many years. She was the sole founder of Christmas in Old Ballinger, Texas and was also named as Citizen of the Year in Ballinger. One of her passions was helping with numerous youth programs as well as programs designed for the elderly. She made her skills useful in helping others where ever she was living at the time.
Survivors include her daughter, Christina K. Peters (David), and three sons, Christopher Findlay (Jillian) of Cedar Creek, TX, John Truehardt (Brittis) of Kyle, TX and Michael Truehardt of Austin, TX. Brother, Frank Chrisco and sister, April Stout. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Johnny Truehardt, her parents and beloved granddaughters Priscilla Findlay and Penelope Montanez.
A memorial service will be held August 28, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Cedar Bend Events, 138 Hunters Chase, in Cedar Creek, Texas 78612.
The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of New Dawn Cremations to direct the cremation services.
